PCWeenie.com Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Statement by Craig Prall, the owner/operator of PCWeenie.com (PCWeenie.net and PrallSoftware.com)
PCWeenie.com is a personal web site run by me as a hobby. I don't have advertising on the site nor do I get any funding from outside sources. I do have the basic Google Analytics engine running, which I use to get statistics on site visits, page views, average time on the site, referral traffic (how you got to this site) and similar statistics. I have enabled the anonymize visitor's IP address and web tracking opt-out features to make it as anonymous and optional as I know how to. (The latter option means that your browser's "do not track" settings should be honored.) Google Analytics can also be used to help with tracking advertisements on the site, but as I have no advertising, I have no need to do that. I use Drupal as my content management system with a number of add-in modules, and as far as I can tell, none of those perform any tracking.
Cookie Policy
Very few cookies are used by this site. The only cookies set or read on any page are for Google Analytics and those cookies required to make this site work correctly for you (e.g., a session ID cookie). No tracking cookies are in use.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
If you have an account on the site, which is required in order to post comments, I will have access to (what you recorded as) your real name, your account name and a valid email address. These are used solely for account verification and password recovery. I do not sell these to anyone or use them myself for any other purpose. If I become aware that something managed to hack my firewall, hack my Drupal administration account or hack the MySQL database used by Drupal to store this information, I will inform all parties affected. If you are just a visitor to the site, I will have no personally identifiable information (PII) about you.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
This site is not intended for children under the age of 13. As far as I know, this site does not collect information from children under the age of 13 (or anyone for that matter). However, I do not attempt to verify the age of those individuals who ask for and are granted accounts on this system. As anything users post as a comment is public, if a user under the age of 13 has an account and posts a comment, that information will be displayed in the comments section of that page and saved in the MySQL database used by the content management system.
